Successful Commotion by the Ocean Event Sponsored by “Broker Kurt” Wannebo with San Diego Real Estate and Investments
The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Dieguito, Youth Arts Academy hosted its 7th annual Commotion by the Ocean event this year on Saturday, May 16th from 1pm to 4:30pm. Commotion by the Ocean took place on the field adjacent to the Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito, Polster Branch. Approximately three-hundred supporters, families and friends attended the event.
This rock and roll picnic concert is family and community friendly that featured fourteen of Youth Arts Academy’s student created bands. Familiar songs such as Whip It by Devo, Gold on the Ceiling by Black Keys and Black Dog by Led Zeppelin, were performed throughout the day. The bands pick their songs and helped write lyrics and music to their own songs as well. Commotion by the Ocean was more than just a Rock band concert, this year three food trucks came out to sell food giving back a proceeds of the income earned. Each band alternated stage time and a variety of silent auction were available for supporters to bid on.
Youth Arts Academy wants Commotion by the Ocean to help raise awareness for music education in our community. The positive impact of music reflects in each and every band members’ musical talents and achievements. With efforts to expand music education, Youth Arts Academy hopes to reach out to the youth that are eager to experiment with instruments and other arts and find something within themselves.
The Youth Arts Academy would also like to send a special thank you to our Title Sponsor: “Broker Kurt” Wannebo with San Diego Real Estate and Investments.
